At tonight’s post meeting, we welcomed in 4 new members:

Welcome aboard one & all!

We had our 1st round of Officer nominations with the final round next month.  You still have time to step into a officer position.

We our proud to report that we have a Scout of the Year entry this year: Girl Scout Sophie Knudson.  Her entry looks very good and has been sent to Department of Washington for judging.

We will be awarding the VFW National Life Saving award this month to Rachael Boehme at MLT High School, where she coaches the Girls basketball team.  We sent in her recommendation to National for her saving the lives of 2 men whose car went into a water-filled ditch.

We have a Post member, Jim Raymond, who is going to D.C. on the May 30th Honor Flight.  Brian Seguin, Post Quartermaster,  will be his Guardian on the flight.

Everyone is reminded that April 5th is the District’s Memorial ceremony with Post 1040 Honor Guard providing full Military Honors, Please plan to attend at the Alderwood Youth Club at 1 PM. 

Last but not least..We “Remembered the Alamo” where 181 volunteers died for freedom after a 13 days of siege on March 6th, 1836.

The door prize drawings were:

• Bill Endicott – $25 but lost it since he wasn’t present
• Roy Ridderbusch– $25 also lost it for being absent
• Because he was there, Don Ross won a jacket. Congratulations Don!
